How AI Is shaping the future of construction: A guest lecture at Ulster University
It was a pleasure to visit Ulster University recently to speak with students on the Masters in Digital Construction Analytics programme about the practical realities of AI in construction.
Our discussion focused not just on the technology itself, but on the wider commercial, organisational, and workforce implications of AI adoption. As the construction sector accelerates its use of digital tools, it is increasingly important that future professionals understand AI as a strategic capability, not simply a technical add-on.
Thank you to Professor David Comiskey for the invitation, and to the students for the quality of their questions and the depth of engagement around the future of digital construction. It was encouraging to see such a strong appetite for thinking critically about how AI will shape decision-making, delivery models, and careers across the built environment
If your organisation, professional body or university is looking for a keynote speaker, guest lecturer, or panel contributor on AI in construction, leadership, and workforce transformation, you can find more information on my speaking work here.
I regularly speak to executive teams, industry conferences, and academic programmes on how AI is reshaping construction - not just technically, but commercially, strategically, and culturally.
